My work shown on the BCTF invitation!

How lucky I am! The image of my work has been chosen and printed on the invitation! There are two versions of the invitation, they select my work on both printing! One is textile brooch and the other is my silver necklace. Thank you to the people who design the invitation.

I've sent out the BCTF invitations with my limited vouchers to galleries and customers. There are a invitation card and a 10% off voucher in the package. Using the voucher, get 10% off when buying in the show! Please feel free to ask for a invitation package if you'd like! I am very glad to send you by post or e-mail. Cheers!

See my new collection @ the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

I am excited to be exhibiting at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, which select 140 designer-makers in jewellery, ceramics, glass, fashion textiles, wood and more.

I will be showing a new collection of my textile jewellery, including new structures and medium.

The 10% discount is given if buying my work at the show.

The show opens next Thursday 20th October, closing on Sunday 23rd October.

The private view will be 20th October 6- 9pm. My space is in Room3 stand 95.

Craftsense - Bilston Craft Gallery

I am very pleased to have been selected to display my work at Bilston Craft Gallery for 1 year from this September. Craftsense is a permanent exhibition which displays historic items from art and museum collections alongside the work of contemporary makers who use traditional materials in a new way.

Craftsense is a permanent exhibition which explores contemporary practice alongside key historic collections, and aims to highlight the relationships between past and present craftsmanship.

Yu-Ping Lin obtained 2011 Goldsmiths Awards :)

I won the Gold Award in "Gallery Jewellery"section of Goldsmiths Craftsmanship & Design Council Awards and the Council Special Award!

Yu-Ping Lin's Origami Jewellery

【Origami Bloom 2011】

Yu-Ping Lin

The collection is inspired by Origami, features the Japanese art of folding paper into attractive shapes merged with elements from Chinese paper-cutting craft. All works of Origami series are made from silver with hand-painted fabrics and mixed media. They are decorated with red thread because it has a meaning of good luck as Origami. The fabric elements can be removed or changed with different patterned fabrics. Also, the pieces are designed so that the metal element can be worn without the fabric parts without compromising their aesthetics.

( All pieces are made from Sterling Silver, Hand-Painted Fabric and Mixed Media. )

British Craft Trade Fair 2011 in Harrogate

It's a fabulous experience to take part in British Craft Trade Fair! There are totally 18 artists including me from Birmingham Design Space showing our pieces as a group in BCTF. Everyone did a brilliant job, I am so proud of being part of Design Space!

Brilliantly Birmingham Private View

Brilliantly Birmingham was officially launched on Thursday 25th November at mac in Cannon Hill Park. The event was a great start to the festival, with the FLUX designers, sponsors and partners all present. It's very excited to have talk with other artist and sponsors! Enjoy the night :)
