"Flourish" Private View (Flourish展開幕酒會花絮）

I'm very pleased to attend the private view of Flourish art jewellery exhibition. With an international reputation for showcasing the best in radical contemporary jewellery, Kath Libbert Jewellery Gallery, based at Salts Mill since 1996, marks her sixteenth birthday with flair! Flourish exhibits a fantastical array of art jewellery selected from around the globe.


十分榮幸出席Flourish展的開幕酒會，KLJ藝廊創建於1996年，以展示當代珠寶設計為理念，以建立起國際化的聲望。此展慶祝KLJ藝廊16年的耕耘，邀請九位來自不同國家的藝術家，分別展示他們的藝術珠寶。

Hee-ha! I am very pleased to say I has been offered a space sponsored by Craft&Design Magazine!!

My work will exhibit in the pavilion at the four day show in Living Crafts, at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire from 10th- 13th May!

Living Crafts will be celebrating its 38th Anniversary in 2012 with literally hundreds of the finest designer-makers. The Emerging Designer-Makers Pavilion is a new feature for Living Crafts. Craft&Design Magazine are supporting the scheme and will be featuring the pavilion in forthcoming issues. (Does that means my work may be posted on magazine!? I extremely hope so!)

I have some complimentary tickets, please feel free to take if you fancy! I can't wait to exhibit in the heritage site!

我愣住幾秒才衝上台領獎，因為當時我正陶醉在我手上那杯紅酒......

其實也有點難以置信我在400個創作者中領到七個獎中的其中一個....... （超～感～動）

Two days counting down to British Craft Trade Fair!

Two days counting down to the show, feeling exciting but a bit panic...

Yesterday, I spent a half day to buy the display items and today I am going to complete some of my work, then put them on my display item. It's always a challenge to design my stand, even if I've sketched before setting up. Now I have to return on my work! Working harder and harder definitely! :D

距離英國工藝展還有兩天！昨天一整個下午去採買了佈置的道具，今天要繼續完成剩下的進度，場地佈置是門大課題，必須先草稿模擬佈置，但每次到達場地佈置後，總是會與想像的有落差，我想我還在學習如何控制這期中的誤差，希望到時候佈置順利，道具與作品相得益彰！（繼續回到我的工作桌加油！）

Hola Monday!

Start working from a rich breakfast!

I had tomato, omelet, wild rocket, honey oats bread, emmental cheese, crumbed ham and apple juice :) I just got the call from Margeret from the BCTF, they are going to offer a extra space to show my pieces in the show. That means my work can be seen either my stand or the cabinet in the hall! But it's not a good news that only two weeks to the BCTF... I have to be more efficient!! Good luck :D

美好的一天從早餐開始！

星期一的早餐總要特別豐盛，不僅要營養充足，多少還得喚醒一下不怎麼甘願的清醒，不是嗎？

今天早上吃著早餐接到一通電話，我四月參加的展覽單位說喜歡我的作品，要另外提供我展示空間，所以參觀者不僅可以在我自己的攤位看到我的作品，也可以在會場的展示櫃裡看到我幾件作品，真是太幸運了！上天給我機會，我要更認真創作，懶惰蟲快給我走開！

How lucky I am! The image of my work has been chosen and printed on the invitation! There are two versions of the invitation, they select my work on both printing! One is textile brooch and the other is my silver necklace. Thank you to the people who design the invitation.

I've sent out the BCTF invitations with my limited vouchers to galleries and customers. There are a invitation card and a 10% off voucher in the package. I am excited to be exhibiting at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, which select 140 designer-makers in jewellery, ceramics, glass, fashion textiles, wood and more.

I will be showing a new collection of my textile jewellery, including new structures and medium.

The 10% discount is given if buying my work at the show.

The show opens next Thursday 20th October, closing on Sunday 23rd October.

The private view will be 20th October 6- 9pm. My space is in Room3 stand 95.

Yu-Ping Lin's Origami Jewellery

【Origami Bloom 2011】

Yu-Ping Lin

The collection is inspired by Origami, features the Japanese art of folding paper into attractive shapes merged with elements from Chinese paper-cutting craft. All works of Origami series are made from silver with hand-painted fabrics and mixed media. They are decorated with red thread because it has a meaning of good luck as Origami. The fabric elements can be removed or changed with different patterned fabrics. Also, the pieces are designed so that the metal element can be worn without the fabric parts without compromising their aesthetics.

( All pieces are made from Sterling Silver, Hand-Painted Fabric and Mixed Media. )
